Clinical Research Business Veteran Joins 5thPort
See Cloud-Based Patient Engagement in Action at SCRS Global Oncology Summit
Augusta, Maine (March 1, 2023): 5thPort, a DecisivEdge company that delivers cloud-based digital patient engagement and e-Consent solutions, welcomes Suresh Kumar to its team as the Senior Vice President of Sales.
With 30+ years of work experience and 13+ years of expertise in Clinical Research, Suresh understands the challenges faced by hospitals and academic medical centers, research institutions and contact research organizations (CROs) when it comes to effective patient recruitment and engagement.
Prior to 5thPort, Kumar was head of WCG Velos AsiaPac, and Sr. Project Executive at WCG Velos, where he gained deep insights into the healthcare domain. At WCG Velos, he managed a $3M+ portfolio which included 10+ critical large clients. Suresh holds a post-graduate degree in engineering, combined with remarkable talent for understanding business challenges.
Navroze Eduljee, Co-Founder of 5thPort, said, “Over the years, Suresh has used his business acumen to close the void between what technical teams build, and “the needs” of functional users of software products. He has successfully led teams and business units in delivering state-of-the-art solutions with an emphasis on true customer satisfaction and relationships. 5thPort is ideal for CROs, institutions and healthcare institutions and we are glad to have Suresh lead Sales with his 20+ years of healthcare experience.”
5th Port is purpose built to help CROs and research sites address four primary challenges in Clinical Trials (including Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs)). The primary goal of the patient engagement solutions are to:
- Reduce trial cost overruns associated with patient recruitment and retention
- Improve clinical outcomes with enhanced patient protocol adherence
- Facilitate patient and clinician experiences (better than the paper based system)
- Simplify consent-related FDA Audit and regulatory compliance processes
“I am super excited to be a part of the 5thPort family,” said Kumar. “Folks in healthcare say it’s all about the patient. Well I say let’s start with informing the patients better about what they are consenting to. Come check us out and upcoming healthcare events and have a chat with me about this essential step in the overall patient experience.”
To meet Suresh and learn more about the 5th Port e-Consent portfolio of solutions, join us at the Society for Clinical Research Sites’ (SCRS) Global Oncology Site Solutions Summit in March 31- April 1 in Austin, Texas. SCRS is a global organization advocating for the needs of clinical research sites globally. 5thPort is a Performance Sponsor at the event. Other upcoming events where 5th Port team including Kumar will be in attendance include the HIMSS23 Global Health Conference and Exhibition April 17-21 in Chicago, Illinois and the WCG MAGI Clinical Research Conference, May 21-24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
